Mountains, adventure, sunset, hiking, and photographing great people are the best ways to spend a day at work. That is what we love to do the most as Banff and Calgary wedding photographers. That is what we live for, and we call ourselves fortunate people for having a job that is also our passion. We were honoured that Evelyn and Michael hired us for their after-wedding adventure in the Canadian Rockies. On the first meeting during our zoom call, we immediately had this feeling that we were a great fit and that the day we were going to spend together will be unforgettable for all of us. Well, we were damn right!
We choose South Pocaterra Ridge trail as our leading destination for sunset shots. However, we met a few hours before hiking, and we captured some great portraits at the Wedge Pond in Kananaskis Country. They both looked stunning, to say at least. The weather decided not to give us a hard time that day, and we all enjoyed being outdoor, excited about what was yet to come.
After an hour at Wedge Pond, we drove to the trailhead where real adventure was about to begin. All ready, equipped with bear sprays and heavy backpacks, we started our way up. The mix of clouds and sun and yellow larches and white peaks created an excellent scenery. The sky gave us its best. Dramatic and colourful clouds were the perfect blend we dreamed about a few hours earlier. We reached the top a few minutes before sunset. Quick outfit change and we were ready to shoot.
After the session, we shared some beer while watching the sky going to sleep. We witnessed full, extremely bright moon. We think that was a reason for what happened next on our way down, but what happens in Kananaskis stays in Kananaskis. 😊
Evelyn and Michael, you chose us. You trusted us for being a part of your adventure. Thank you from the bottoms of our hearts.
